Rumours about upcoming Smartphones
This time though the following information are rumours about smartphones, so these may or may not come true in future. But since we all love rumours ;) I
thought of compiling all these rumours which I read around internet.
iOS and iPhone :
iOS and iPhone :
Ever year Cupertino based Apple Inc.
updates its smartphone OS, iOS currently is in its eight iteration. Apple’s
WWDC is kicking off from tomorrow and we can be sure to see iOS9. Also we will
know which iPhones and iPads will be getting the new iOS. Even there are
rumours of a new iPhone. This means we can see iPhone7 instead of
iPhone6s/6splus, although nothing can’t be said for sure. The new phone
according to leaks will be available from late September this year. Design wise
iOS9 will not be a radical change from iOS8, but there will be incremental
updates and improvements.
At WWDC 2015 be sure announcements for new Apple TV this year, along with Mac OS 10.11, and new Apple Music Service. This is not all as many other things will also be announced. Tomorrow be ready to watch WWDC 2015, live at apple.com/live. Time for event starting is 10 AM PDT, for your comfort people it will be live at 10:30 PM in India. So book your seats for tomorrow’s event.

Droid
Army Up Again:
Unlike Apple, Google has got an army of
manufacturers for its mobile OS Android. Well, you cannot say Google’s OS is just
Android rather it's a mix of different versions. Some of you may remember
Gingerbread, its still alive in this day and time. Gingerbread was new one, even
the version 2.2 of Android Fryo is living on with a mere 0.3% market share.
Android is the leading mobile OS in world but in itself there is fragmentation which even Google is not able to clamp down. More on this will come in next post in a day or two where I’ll discuss about mobile OSes, which will cover Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, Blacberry’s BB10 and Micorsoft’s Window Phone and Window 10 Mobile.

Now onto rumours for upcoming Android
hardware. First up from Motorola, this year Motorola is going for release of
Moto G 3rd gen and Moto X 3rd Gen. Moto G’s both 1st
and 2nd Gen were hit in market. Now comes rumours for 3rd
gen, which may come with improved screen of 1080X1920 pixels and improved 610
Snapdragon processor. Also there may be increase of RAM upto 2GB from previous
version. Moto X 2nd Gen was released in September 2014, so now a
update is due. For Moto X 3rd Gen specs rumoured are a 808
Snapdragon processor with Adreno 418 GPU, 4GB Ram is expected to come with 32GB
and 64GB internal memory option.
Next up is Sony, I do really love Sony
as a company. Like Nokia and Motorola they were the pioneer of mobile phone
revolution here in India. My first multimedia phone was a Sony Ericsson W700i.
Although Sony’s Androids were not as successful as Samsung’s but that has not
stopped the company to innovate more. So whenever Sony’s name pop up in today’s
tech news I sit and watch. I have really liked recent offerings from Sony’ s
stable . This year Sony is expected to launch two new devices Sony Xperia Z4
Ultra and Z4 Compact. Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra with 810 Snapdragon quad core
processor, with 3GB RAM. Along with a 16MP camera at the back, even though I
think Sony would be at least putting a 21MP or more on this. Sony Xperia Z4
Compact will be a 4.7” device with a 1080X1920 pixels, with a 1.5Ghz Quad-core with
Adreno 430 GPU.
HTC, this year HTC launched One M9 which
really failed to meet the expectations of market and consumers alike. One M8
was more successful. Recently in a shareholder meeting HTC CEO Cher Wang mentioned that HTC would be releasing a new Hero Device later this year. Not much
is known about this device, will it be a upgrade of One M9 or a totally
different new device.
Windows
Phone :
Windows phone has not a single flagship
phone since the release of Lumia 930 and after that HTC One M9 for Windows
Phone, it has a long wait for WP enthusiasts for a flagship. Now as Microsoft
is paving road to latest OS of mobile Windows10 Mobile, rumours have started to
come out. There are rumours for two flagship phones from the Redmond
giant, these are codenamed as CITYMAN
and TALKMAN.
Microsoft Mobile previously Nokia Mobile has always been famous for code naming its new mobile phones. Both of these devices are expected to be launched along with Windows10 Mobile, the next iteration of mobile OS from Microsoft. Rumoured specs for Talkman, include a 5.2” QHD display, Qualcomm based 6 core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory with support for external microSD card slot, 20MP rear and 5MP front camera, with a 3000mAh removable battery. Cityman which will be the real hero device for Redmond based company, will be a 5.7” QHD display, with 8 core Qualcomm processor, with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage with support for external microSD card slot, with same 20MP rear and 5MP front camera. Both these phones are expected by second half of this year, also Cityman is expected to have Continuum feature support.
A new rumour has also surfaced about Cityman, and it's from famous Evan Blass that Microsoft is going to bring Iris scanner in this phone and altogether skipping fingerprint scanner from its flagship and jumping onto the next big thing. Could this be the device that will bring back Microsoft to the forefront in mobile OSes race? We will have to wait and see, but coming months are going to be pretty exciting for smartphone enthusiasts.
