Heard of Yo and it’s popularity?
Yo is a new messaging app that lets you send the word “Yo” to all your friends with a single
tap. That’s all it does , and guess what? It has over 1 million users.
The app was so simple that Apple rejected at first. They didn’t think it was actually complete. But then it was released to the App store on April Fool’s Day.

Yo’s description on iTunes Store states:
Wanna say “good morning”? just Yo.
Wanna say “Baby I’m thinking about
you”? - Yo.
”I’ve finished my meeting, come by
my office” - Yo.
“Are you up” - Yo.
The simple app gaining popularity took only eight hours to build. But what an irony, its security was weak enough that a group of college kids hacked it. Yo’s founder Abel wrote on Medium “We were lucky enough to get hacked at an early stage and the issues has been fixed.”
